Role of the Supervisor

The role of the supervisor in the GAA/JobBridge Fís Scheme is to provide the interns with the opportunity to gain practical hands-on experience and to assist the interns in their daily activities.
The role of the supervisor should evolve over the course of an internship as the intern becomes more independent. Initially the supervisor should act as a teacher for the intern, who will shadow their activities. Gradually the supervisor should become a facilitator - reinforcing and supporting the intern as they become increasingly independent in their activities. Finally, as the intern becomes increasingly confident in their abilities, the supervisor will support their activities but as a peer or a colleague.
